Helen B. Barak
Helen B. Barak, 93, was born in Ennis, Texas to Frances & Jerry Matous, on August 31, 1929. She passed on Sunday, March 12, 2023 with all her children at her side. Visitation was held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Boze Mitchell McKibbin Funeral Home in Ennis, with recitation of the Holy Rosary commenced at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial was held 10 a.m. on Friday, March 17, 2023, at Saint John Nepomucene Catholic Church with Father John Dick as Celebrant. Interment followed at Saint Joseph Cemetery in Ennis, under the direction of Boze Mitchell McKibbin Funeral Home. Pallbearers were: Scott Barak, Christopher Barak, Randy Barak, Philip Barak, Brian Zhanel, David Zhanel, Eric Jessup, Joey Laznovsky and Johnny “Joe” Laznovsky.
Franklin David Ritchey
Franklin David Ritchey was born December 15, 1940 to Sara (Dobbs) and Robert W. Ritchey. He departed on March 10, 2023. A native son of Ennis, David graduated Ennis High School in 1958. He was deeply patriotic and proudly served his country in the United States Airforce as an airplane mechanic in the 1st Air Material Squadron, with numerous mechanical certifications. David served four years active duty and was sent to North Africa during the start of the Vietnam War to perform repairs and maintenance. He served an additional two years in the reserves. David retired as a printing pressman at Ennis Business Forms where he worked for 40 years. His friends and family remember him as a hardworking, dedicated, loving and patient man.
Daniel "Dan" Clayton Whitteaker
Daniel “Dan” Clayton Whitteaker, age 61, passed away at his home in Monterey, Tennessee, after a short bout with cancer. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, on March 17, 1962, and died on March 12, 2023. He spent most of his life in Texas. He was a star 6 ft. 8 in. basketball player at Ennis High School and attended Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, on a basketball scholarship. After graduating with a marketing and business degree, he opened an insurance business and consulting agency.

Patricia Lucille Prestidge
Patricia Lucille (Whitfill) Prestidge, 92, took the journey to her Heavenly home on February 22, 2023, surrounded by her family. Lucille was one of eleven children born to Anthony Eaghart and Mary Christina (Kelly) Whitfill on May 17, 1930, in Alma, Texas. She graduated from St. John High School in May 1948 and married the love of her life Oscar Coye Prestidge on February 21, 1954, and they made their home in Ennis and they had four children: Randall, Janice, Phyllis and Brian.
Richard Timothy Eveland
Richard Timothy Eveland was born December 29, 1984, in Bakersfield, California, to Stacy Burgan and Don Crane. Richard was raised by Stacy and Jeff Eveland in Derby Acres and Fellows where he attended school at Midway school where he graduated 8th grade. Richard went on to attend and graduate Taft Union High School in Taft, California.
