Ennis (16-6-1) dropped an important District 14-5A softball game, 2-0, on the road at Joshua on Tuesday night. The Owls win avenged a 4-3 loss at Ennis last month.

Ennis Athletic Director Don Drake issued a statement this week that he has received numerous applications for two new head coaching vacancies.

Don’t look now, but rebuilding Italy is looking dangerous again. A year after reaching the Regional Semi-Finals in baseball, HC Gary Brown opened this season with only three returning starters.

Ennis Girls Track & Field star, Tavia Williams, signed with the College of Saint Mary’s (Omaha, Nebraska). The senior will continue her prowess as a thrower for the Flames, hurling the discus and putting the shot.

Like the 30-mph winds, something was sure to be blown away. As it turns out, it was Ennis blasting Cleburne, 12-3, to remain tied with Red Oak for the top spot in District 14-5A.

Towering blasts from Briann Warner and Katie Waddle powered Palmer to 9-2 lead in the second inning, and the Lady Bulldogs staved off a Scurry-Rosser comeback in a 10-9 triumph Monday in Palmer. A boisterous crowd was on hand for both teams.

Ca’Terrin “T.T.” Cox and Heath Vernor are peaking at the perfect time as the Ennis boys Track & Field team is cresting ahead of the District 8-5A tournament. Both have turned in performances that are the best by any athlete in the league.
